In 2015 Olivet University received approval from the ABHE to found a new School of Engineering and Architecture. The first degree program, a baccalaureate degree in civil engineering, was offered in the fall of 2015.
Olivet School of Engineering and Architectures was established to educate Christ Centered men and women in developing built and natural environments. By spreading the interest of God’s calling for Kingdom builders, OSEA can educate and train graduates capable of designing and constructing infrastructure systems in support of Christian mission around the world.
The curriculum of 120 credit hours of study, offered both on site and online, is organized to meet the requirements for ABET engineering accreditation and will include coverage of four civil engineering discipline areas–structural, geotechnical, water resources, and construction. In addition to these areas of study, students will take advantage of several well-established programs (e.g., Engineers Without Borders, Bridges to Prosperity) that will facilitate their engagement with engineering projects in the developing world.
Olivet University is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) to award Certificates, Bachelor, Master’s and Doctorate degrees. Olivet University is listed here in the ABHE directory of member institutions.
ABHE is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Contact the ABHE Commission on Accreditation at 5850 T.G. Lee Blvd., Ste. 130 Orlando, FL 32822; call 407-507-0808; or visit www.abhe.org.
